The Netherlands English Scrabble club was established in March 2004 to promote English-language Scrabble in The Netherlands. Players of all levels are welcome.
We meet on Sunday afternoons, from 1pm to 4pm, at the Runway Cafe at Schiphol airport. This venue has been chosen because it is very easy to reach by car as well as by public transport. If you plan to come and play, please let us know.
We usually have a tournament every year. For 2008, we're going to have one sometime in April. Watch this space for details.
You can download and print out one of these scoresheets for keeping track of score and tiles played during a game of Scrabble. Tile tracking is a useful technique to learn, because it helps you to know what opponent has at the end. It is also useful because it gives you an idea of the remaining letter distribution as the game progresses, so you can make better decisions about which letters to play off or keep.
If you're interested in playing, please email anand at buddhdev dot name.
If you can't find other Scrabble players in your local area, you can play online, at the Internet Scrabble Club. You have to download and install software called WordBiz, which then allows you to connect to their servers and play with hundreds of other players from all over the world. And you can play in English, French, Dutch, Romanian and Italian
